Hellhounds are one of the most common animalistic demons you can find in the underworld. They get their name due to their canine-like behavior and pack mentality. Hellhounds are created in red plasma pits found in the underworld, probably evolving from bacteria that lived down there. With tall legs and a large mouth, they are pretty much built for hunting and running. The hellhound's tough armor like skin can withstand harsh terrain and like most demons, they have spontaneous recovery powers and can regrow lost limbs in seconds.
Since they use their noses to sense their surroundings, they have no need for eyes. When hunting prey, they will shoot out the red plasma that 70% of its body is composed of at the target to slow it down. The glowing red plasma is similar to lava as it has the same effect of burning and corroding. Since it always is producing plasma, it has vents around its body to let out excess plasma and to avoid overheating. The number of nostrils and vents they can have and their head shapes can vary within the species, as well as the number of heads. They can have 1, 2 or 3 heads. 3 headed hellhounds are often seen as the leaders of their pack structure and are sometimes referred to as a "Cerberus"
Hellhounds are thought to be a close relative of (and possibly evolved from) the Gydou.
